19 April Aiden Darling Harbour Appoints Australasia’s First Aiden Hotel GM April 19, 2021 By Jenny Le April 2021 Key News Update 0 Australia’s newest luxury boutique hotel, Aiden Darling Harbour has appointed young gun hospitality leader, Michael Sharp as its opening General Manager and the first to lead an Aiden-branded hotel in Australasia. Bringing 14 years’ of hotel experience, including nine in hotel manager and general manager roles, Sydney-born Michael returns to his hometown after eight years of running hotels in other parts of Australia and in New Zealand, to open Best Western’s newest hotel. Michael started his hospitality career at the age of 18 as a porter at Rydges North Sydney, and quickly moved into more senior roles, leading hotel teams in Canberra, Port Macquarie, Sydney, Darwin, Queenstown, Rotorua and most recently Wellington. His latest appointment will see him debuting the Aiden boutique hotel brand in Australasia, with the mid-year opening of Aiden Darling Harbour opposite the Pyrmont Bridge in Sydney’s harbourside Pyrmont village. Offering guests a new way to stay, the hotel will feature 88 smartly-designed compact rooms, an incredible hidden 25-metre-high mural, contactless technology and all the must-haves for an easy, luxurious yet affordable stay on the city’s fringe.
