ATHOC operates nationally with an elected board representing a range of membership categories covering resorts, timeshare owners, developers and promoters, marketers, exchange companies and organisations providing professional advice to the timeshare industry.

On behalf of all Members, the board works closely with members, advocates, and with administrative and regulatory bodies throughout Australia to achieve the vision and mission of ATHOC.

To continually foster a high standard of ethics and adherence to industry best practice amongst Members, all Members are required to abide by a Code of Ethics and a Code of Practice.

President Craig Wood

Craig has over 30 years' experience in the vacation  ownership industry at the most senior  level. Over the last 25 years has been exclusively involved in branded vacation clubs, managing operations in 8 countries across Asia, including 13 years for Marriott Vacation Club and over 14 years with Accor.

Deputy President Barry Robinson

President & Managing Director, International Operations, Travel & Leisure Co


Barry Robinson is the President and Managing Director, International Operations for Wyndham Destinations, a division of Travel + Leisure Co. In his role, he oversees the largest timeshare development operation outside of North America. Based in Singapore, Barry leads the company’s operations across Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Indonesia, China, Japan, Thailand, and the Philippines.

Barry is a driving force behind the international growth of Club Wyndham South Pacific and Club Wyndham Asia. His leadership was instrumental in the acquisition of Resort Frontier Co. Ltd, which has 16 properties in Japan. Under his stewardship, the asset portfolio of Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific has exceeded AU$1 billion, with approximately 70 hotel and vacation club properties and some 3,000 employees. Additionally, Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific serves as a preferred hotel management partner for Wyndham Hotels & Resorts in the Asia Pacific region.

He is President of the Asia Pacific Resort Development Organisation (APRDO), where he advocates for the timeshare industry in the region. He also serves as Vice President of the Australian Timeshare and Holiday Ownership Council (ATHOC).

Barry was recognised as Entrepreneur of the Year at the 2022 GNEX Vacation Industry Awards and Asia Pacific Hotelier of the Year award at the 2022 HM Awards.

Carole Smith

Chief Operating Officer, Classic Holidays


Carole is the Chief Operating Officer and Director of Classic Leisure Pty Ltd trading as Classic Holidays. Responsible for managing the day to day operations of Resort Management and Member Services which represents some 50,000 members. This includes financial management and administration, supervision of management of the 28 Resorts, Body Corporates and Clubs in Australia and New Zealand, management of service/other agreements in non Classic Group managed properties and management of strategic alliances with other tourism and leisure organisations.

She is also the recipient of the following industry recognitions:

Involved in all aspects of timeshare including sales, marketing and resort management. Responsible Manager for two Responsible Entities managing Timesharing Schemes. President/Director of ATHOC and involved in industry regulatory compliance discussions, policy and future wellbeing of the industry.

Fiona is the General Manager and Company Secretary for Pacific View Resort No. 2 Ltd since 2000. She has 25 years Resort Management Experience and Certificate in Governance Practice.

Martin Tolan

Regional Vice President Marketing & Sales, Asia Pacific, Marriott Vacations Worldwide


Martin Tolan, Regional Vice President of Marketing & Sales, Asia Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East for Marriott Vacations Worldwide, has over 35 years of experience in vacation ownership in the U.S., Caribbean, Mexico, Europe, and Asia. 

At the beginning of his career, Tolan created a thriving marketing company in Florida acquired by Vistana in 1997. After the successful sale of his company, he was asked to stay on and lead the business growth in the East Region of the U.S., Caribbean and Mexico. 

In 2012, Martin joined Anantara Vacation Club in Bangkok, Thailand, acting effectively for four years as Chief Operating Officer, building Anantara into one of Asia's largest timeshare sales operations. He was responsible for expanding and opening several Asian markets, including China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Singapore. 

In 2016, he joined ILG Vacation Ownership in Orlando, Florida. In 2018, Marriott Vacations Worldwide acquired ILG; he is now responsible for the region's marketing & Sales performance, growth, and strategic direction. 

With his extensive experience globally, he has been a pioneer in developing successful leadership teams, business growth, and ensuring innovative programs across businesses.

James Goodwin

Chief Executive Officer


A dynamic and strategic leader with experience as an Executive and Non-Executive Director. A skilled communicator with a background in media, communications, government relations, public policy and corporate affairs. A history of working in the transport, infrastructure, tourism, travel, aviation, automotive and education sectors.

James joined Accommodation Australia as their new CEO in September 2024 and looks forward to nurturing and building on the strong relationships already created with key stakeholders, both in government and accommodation industry leaders. 

Prior to his role with the AA, Mr Goodwin was the CEO of the Australian Airports Association (AAA) for more than four years and before that was Chief Executive of Australia’s leading vehicle safety advocate, the ANCAP Safety from 2015 to 2020.  James has held senior government relations, communications and stakeholder relations roles at industry associations and government agencies following a career as a journalist, including in the Federal Parliamentary Press Gallery.

He has served on a number of Boards and is currently Chair of St John Ambulance ACT and a Board Director with the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) Solutions.
